About

December 30th, 2009

Jeremy Hentschel is a Baltimore-based writer who has participated in writing workshops and seminars at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, American University, and Chapman University.

Jeremy earned a BA in Philosophy with a Minor in English at UMBC, and he is now pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at AU in Washington D.C. He currently resides in Ellicott City, Maryland. So far, the commute has only developed in him a mild neurosis.

His short story “Teardrop” appeared in the 2007 edition of the Bartleby literary journal where it received the award for best short fiction. As part of his Masters thesis, he has begun work on a novel tentatively titled A Matter of Life and Death.

Jeremy has a chronic interest in writing, movies, books, television, and comics (amongst other hopelessly nerdy and cripplingly expensive pastimes).  His opinions on, critiques of, and experiences with these and other matters can be found on this blog. Samples of his short fiction are located in the “Short Stories” section above.
